Two new
restaurants, operated by Sebastians Café and Catering, are now open
at the Boston Public Library (BPL) in Copley Square. The
restaurants offer library visitors a unique dining experience and
showcase the BPL as one of Boston’s most inviting destinations.
The restaurant,
called Novel, offers a luncheon buffet featuring gourmet
salads, homemade soups, signature sandwiches, and a variety of hot
and cold entrees, as well as afternoon tea service. It is
now open Monday through Friday from 11:30-4:30. Luncheon buffet is served from
11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and afternoon tea is served from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m.
The café,
called Sebastians Map Room Café, offers breakfast and lunch
items and features freshly made sandwiches and salads, homemade
soups, desserts and snacks. The café is now open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.,
Monday through Saturday.
The restaurants are located on the first floor of the historic McKim
building. Novel overlooks the Boston Public Library
Italianate courtyard with its famed Bacchante statue and fountain. Sebastians
Map Room Café is housed in the space originally opened as a map
room in 1895.
