Summer Reading 2026
Adult Summer Reading
Summer Reading for all ages takes place June 1 through August 31! Pick up a bingo card in person at any BPL location or download one online.
Participants can choose a bingo card designed specifically for beginning readers (ages 0-5), youth (ages 5-12), teens (ages 13-17), or adults with reading challenges and other fun summer activities. Adults who want an extra challenge can choose the Read More card instead of the classic Adult bingo card. Bingo cards are also available in languages other than English.
Youth Summer Reading
This summer, the Boston Public Library invites youth ages 0–17 to take part in BPL Bingo, a fun and interactive way to stay engaged with reading and learning during the school break. With specially designed bingo cards, participants can complete reading challenges and activities tailored to their age group.
Children and teens will earn a sticker each time you complete a bingo square. Visit your local library after your fifth completion to claim a prize — while supplies last!
Looking for a way to give back this summer? Set your reading goal and join the BPL Fund’s Summer Readathon! Invite friends and family to sponsor your challenge. Every dollar you raise supports Youth Summer Reading at the BPL, fueling engaging programs and learning opportunities for children & teens all over Boston. Readers of all ages are welcome—and caregivers, please sign up on behalf of your kids!
