Noah Kahan

Noah Kahan is a singer-songwriter who was born on January 1, 1997, on a tree farm in Vermont. His father taught him how to play guitar at a young age, and by the time he was eight years old he was already writing his own songs. Soon he was uploading them to YouTube and SoundCloud for the world to hear.

Kahan landed his first record deal when he was 20 years old, and the result of that was the EP Hurt Somebody in 2018, with the song "Young Blood", opens a new window having been released as a viral single in 2017. 2018 was a successful year for Kahan, with him landing on the charts in several countries, touring in support of the group The Strumbrellas, making his late night TV debut on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, touring in support of George Ezra, and then completing his own headlining tour of North America and Europe.

His first full-length album, Busyhead, came out in 2019 and featured the single "False Confidence, opens a new window." Mental health is something dear to Kahan's heart, and he donated a portion of ticket sales from his 2023 tour to support the Busyhead Project, opens a new window which is "dedicated to meeting the needs of marginalized communities with both crisis care and tools for sustainable resilience." This album was followed up with another EP, Cape Elizabeth, that included the single "Pride, opens a new window" which he recorded with the artist mxmtoon.

2021 saw the release of his second album, I Was / I Am. The single "Someone Like You, opens a new window," was a collaboration with the artist Joy Oladokun. This album was to be a taste of what he had in store with his next album.

With his third and most recent full-length album in 2022, Stick Season, he fully embraced his New England roots. Stick season refers to the season between late October and the first snow, when the trees no longer have leaves and resemble nothing but a bunch of sticks. It's a transitional season, often grey and cold. It was this album that got him the Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and reached the number one slot on the Billboard rock and alternative album charts. The single "Stick Season, opens a new window" reached number 13 on Billboard's Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. The song "You're Gonna Go Far" from the album has been a song that has bonded generations, both the young people who are just graduating from school and moving on to the next phase of their lives, and their parents who are watching their children make that next step. Stick Season (Forever) was released in 2024, and is an extended release of the 2022 album. It features collaborations with other artists and the new single "Forever, opens a new window."  He is currently on tour in support of Stick Season, and his two shows scheduled for July 18th and 19th at Fenway have been sold out for months. However, he's giving fans the option of buying tickets to a live stream of the concerts for those who couldn't make it to the live shows. A portion of these ticket sales will also be donated to the Busyhead Project.
