Good or bad? Right or wrong? You will have a hard time deciding while reading any one of these "good" thrillers. And check out these book covers! They say the eyes are the windows to the soul. So what do these eyes reveal?
Never go with strangers...
Nobody has ever taken care of Mia Dennett. Her upwardly mobile parents didn't do it. Her uptight older sister didn't do it. So the talented inner-city art teacher has learned to take care of herself. Or so she thinks, until an impulsive one-night stand turns into a nightmare far beyond her control. Why? Because she is abducted!
Kubica's debut is a high-intensity thriller, a psychological puzzle that will keep you turning the pages. Telling Mia's story as seen by her mother and her abductor before letting us in on Mia's own perspective, Kubica makes it especially satisfying when the pieces of the puzzle start to fall into place.
They're siblings, but their blood runs cold...
Separated at birth, twin sisters become embroiled in a murder plot — against each other. Charly got everything she ever wanted. Everything Mallory wanted too. And now having it all might be easier than Mallory ever imagined. All she has to do is say yes. Eventually, the mounting tension between these two strong characters, despite each woman's desire to learn the other's long-held family secrets, becomes this chilling story's most powerful element.
These sisters were so complicated, different — yet similar, and I was drawn to both of them. In their own way, each sister had a dark side, which I loved. You may find yourself cheering while they're doing horrible things. Green does a great job of letting you in on what the characters are thinking and laying out their motivations.
Believe me, this is no heartwarming family reunion.
Everybody lies...
One explosion. Three women. Countless secrets.
This is the story of Cecily, Kate, and Franny — three women whose lives were forever changed following an explosion that destroyed a Chicago building one year ago. Cecily lost her husband and best friend; Kate fled from Chicago that very day; and Franny lost her birth mother, a woman she had been searching for. Now, all three women's lives are about to intersect in ways they would never have imagined.
This suspenseful, unsettling novel about what lurks in the wake of tragedy is a perfectly executed, character-driven psychological thriller that highlights how devastating, damaging, and dangerous secrets can truly be.
Flipping pages into the night, I just had to find out who was lying. Of course, they all were, but why?
These thrillers have twists and turns, secrets and lies, betrayals and danger. All are clever, skillfully paced page-turners that will have you on the edge of your seat from the very first page. Do you really think you know someone? Think again...
