Boston Library Consortium
Boston Library Consortium (BLC) is an association of academic and research libraries located in the Northeastern United States. BLC is dedicated to sharing resources to advance the research and learning of its members. Boston Public Library offers consortium cards that provide access to services at other BLC member institutions, including:
- On-site use of some member libraries. (Contact the individual libraries for detailed information).
- Interlibrary loan
- Limited borrowing privileges from member libraries
Borrowing privileges and expiration dates vary at each member institution. Please note that there are different loan periods and fine structures at each library. You are responsible for any charges you accrue. Failure to abide by lending library rules may result in the loss of library privileges at all Consortium libraries.
Fill out this BLC Consortium Card Program Application and bring it to the Delivery Desk on the second floor of the McKim Building at the Central Library in Copley Square. (See the Central Library Floor Plan for location details.)
Applicants must:
- Have a full-service Boston Public Library card in good standing.
- Have no missing items or excessive fines.
- Be a Massachusetts resident.
- Present a valid Photo ID.
